Our Staff


Deborah L. Layman, MM, NMT, MT-BC, is co-founder and co-director
of Creating Connections Company, LLC.  She is a board certified music
therapist with advanced designation in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT).  
Ms. Layman has extensive experience in working with special needs
children of a wide range of ages and diagnoses, including autism
spectrum disorder, Fragile X, cerebral palsy, mitochondrial disorders,
sensory integration issues, auditory processing disorders, traumatic brain
injury, and developmental trauma.  Ms. Layman is the Chair of the
Continuing Education Committee for the Certification Board for Music
Therapists, the Music Therapy Grant Specialist at Beech Brook, and a
member of the American Music Therapy Association, the Association of
Ohio Music Therapists, and the Robert F. Unkefer Academy of Neurologic
Music Therapy.  Ms. Layman is a frequent national and international
conference presenter and has published a variety of peer-reviewed
journal articles, book chapters, and manuals involving her research in
music therapy.   

Amy M. Lumadue, MA, LPC, is co-founder and co-director of Creating
Connections Company, LLC.  She is a licensed professional counselor
specializing in autism spectrum disorder and has extensive experience in
working with children with developmental disabilities and their families.
Ms. Lumadue is currently employed as a therapist providing early
childhood counseling at Crossroads.  She is thoroughly trained in several
treatment methodologies (including TEACCH and ABA), and is a
candidate for advanced certification in DIR ®/Floortime
TM.

Jeff Wolfe, BA, is a music therapy intern at Creating Connections
Company, LLC.  He is currently working on his master's equivalency
degree in music therapy at Ohio University, with an emphasis in
counseling.  Jeff received his B.A. in percussion performance from the
University of Akron.  He has previously held the positions of President and
Vice President of the Great Lakes Regional Board of the American Music
Therapy Association Students.  Mr. Wolfe has previously been on the
music staff at Midpark High School and the Athens Community Music
School.  He is currently Director of Kids Town Child Development Center
in Brunswick.
